During September and October 2001, Emily Barlaston will be touring the Low Lands with a production of Franz Léhar's comic operetta The Merry Widow. Will she be playing Hanna, Olga or Valencienne? Actually, no: these roles will be taken care of by the talented Elisabeth Werres, Marijke van Proosdij and Ellen van Haaren - perhaps Emily is just a trifle too, well, ripe for these characters. However, she will be going to the other extreme by taking on the part of little Baby Rossillon.
